Renting a hangar: what to check

Door width and height: Compare them with your wingspan and tail height, and leave room to spare on each side.
Depth and floor: Check the depth, the floor and whether other aircraft must be moved to get yours out.
Access: Opening hours, gate codes, towing equipment and who opens the hangar.
Insurance and contract: Most owners ask for liability or hangarkeeper insurance and a written agreement.
Costs: What the rent includes (electricity, heating, cleaning), deposits and the notice period.

Owners, airports and FBOs can list shared space, T-hangars and tie-downs for free, and pilots looking for space can post a wanted ad.
